With so many exciting projects in the pipeline, Netflix Geeked Week has been wild. With a constant flow of nail-biting announcements, the hype levels started high and just kept on climbing! Of course, we’d be here all day if we talked about absolutely everything. So here’s a quick list of some of the Geeked Week announcements that we were extra stoked to see!

Resident Evil has been a smash hit in the gaming community, so we were all pretty hyped to find out that Netflix had plans to adapt the videogame into a high-budget, live-action series. And this Geeked Week, we got the latest scoop on what's in store with a brand new trailer. Those undead animals are looking pretty freaky - and we love it!

We were pretty hyped when The Sea Beast was first announced. Directed by Chris Williams, who brought us Big Hero 6 and Moana, our hopes were pretty high when we were given our first look at the project a few months back. Well, Geeked Week gives us the final, definitive trailer and an official Netflix release date of July 8th. And it looks gorgeous! What a perfect way this will be to pass a Midsummer evening.

Speaking of animation, Geeked Week also brought us an official sneak peek of the upcoming stop-motion thriller, Wendell & Wild, co-written by and starring Keegan Micheal Key and Jordan Peele. And if that doesn’t sell it to you, the project is being directed by none other than Henry Selick, the man who brought us The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline. I honestly can’t think of a better team to bring to life the spine-chilling story of a haunted teddy bear. Wendell & Wild is due to arrive on Netflix this October!

Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy is just around the corner, set to release on Netflix on June 22nd. And to get us in the mood, Geeked Week has provided us with an exclusive clip containing the very first look at our misfit’s new home - the Hotel Obsidian. Pretty swanky looking, eh?

Who knew that a One Piece adaptation was in the works?! Well, Geeked Week has given us an exclusive look into the behind the scenes of the new, live-action production. We got a sneaky peek at both concept art and set designs, all of which had the beautifully whimsical vibe of Eiichiro Oda’s original creation. Now, I understand live-action anime adaptations have a bit of a reputation for falling flat, but looking at the cast and set design, we do actually have a glimmer of hope for this one. Let’s hope people will give it a chance!

The Addams Family is back with a brand new spinoff series focusing on their fan-favourite daughter, Wednesday. Directed by Tim Burton (honestly, could there be a better choice?), Geeked Week gives us our first in-character look at Jenna Ortega, who will be starring in the title role. And my God does she nail it! There’s no official release date announced yet, but from this little teaser alone, we are already buzzing!

Of all the Geeked Week announcements, there’s one that has been dominating the headlines this week: Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is officially set to release early next month on August 5th! Deemed unfilmable for decades, The Sandman is one of the most highly anticipated shows since the third season of Sherlock. Based on one of the most highly acclaimed comic book series of all time, the buzz surrounding this project is understandable. It feels great finally being able to count down the days.

Which Geeked Week announcement are you most hyped for? Is there a project we didn’t mention that you want to give a shoutout to? Feel free to list your favourites in the comments below!
