WILD NEWS ROUNDUP

Werewolves vs Resident Evil, Savage Spider-Man vs The Monkey Prince and Halo vs Cuphead … Is February the ‘Arbiter’ for any of these debates?

We finally made it to February and what a start it's been, especially in the comic book world...

One of my favourite X-Men, Sabretooth was introduced in a standalone comic this week! With a variety of variant covers available, this story follows Sabretooth into the Pit, sentenced to an eternity of torment....

Marvel also launched new stories for Savage Spider-Man and Fantastic Four: Reckoning War: Alpha and whilst neither of these are my favourite in terms of Marvel characters, these new storylines seem to offer a darker and more brutal arc to some familiar faces...

Image Comics brought a new title to the table in the form of NEW MASTERS, a blend of science fiction, adventure, and vibrant Afrofuturism. In a striking vision of West Africa under the thumb of alien colonisers, a motley crew of outcasts find themselves caught up in a power struggle for the control of an ancient artifact with immense power.

For something a little more lightweight, enter Dave, a junkee, heavy metal drummer whose life is about to get a whole lot tougher because under the streets of Los Angeles breeds the seeds of a gruesome interdimensional conflict! Behemoth Comics brings us Heavy Metal Drummer!

DC has been relatively quiet this week but did grace us with Monkey Prince, the newest hero added to the roster! On his first day at a new school in a new town he has his true form revealed to him, gifted with the ability to transform into 72 different forms and clone himself using his hair!

Movie wise the nerd world may have been a bit quiet this week but have you missed Danny Trejo ? His new thriller/action movie THE PREY: Legend of Karnoctus is out now.

We did however get a new preview of the new Cuphead series, The Cuphead Show!, debuting on Netflix this month. I lost many hours, and probably years off my life due to stress from that game, but I can't deny my love for it so let's see what the devil has in store for us now!

FYI,Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Watchmen also became available on Netflix this week so I can’t see myself moving off my sofa any time soon…

Speaking of game adaptations, the Halo The Series trailer is finally in our hands! The whole team is excited for this one, even if the design for Cortana is debatable… I'm hoping it launches on mainstream UK platforms too and not just Paramount+ !

February hits hard with fantastic gaming titles throughout the entire month. To begin with, it seems we can't get enough of Resident Evil as another remake drops, this time in HD. The Resident Evil 4 creators have been able to find the original source materials used, allowing them to faithfully recreate the original texture at a much higher resolution. Could this be in preparation for the new RE game rumoured for Q4 of 2022?

But if you're bored of remakes I would highly recommend checking out Gods Will Fall, available now on all platforms. This is a special game. I am horrible at it, and it, in turn, is horrible to me, and yet I keep pushing on. A dungeon crawler following a rabble of ruffians who have decided to take down the cruel Gods, but getting to them is not easy!

Finally, today we see the largely anticipated Werewolf: The Apocalypse Earthblood launch on Xbox and PS. If, like me, you've been waiting for a game where you can turn into a werewolf and absolutely shred people up here it is...as long as you don't mind the bad graphics and underwhelming storyline...

Are you excited for a new Resident Evil game or are you ready to Werewolf SMASH? Or do you think it's time for a new franchise to rock the horror gaming world? Tell us in the comments!
